Saugus is centrally located in the Santa Clarita Valley between the 5 and the 14 freeway, giving the commuters access to two freeways. Saugus also has one of the best elementary schools and a very good high school. When my Husband and I moved to the Santa Clarita valley in 1987, we bought our first home in Saugus and have seen the whole valley expand rapidly. The home prices in Saugus are slightly lower than in Valencia, but higher than in Canyon Country. The data presented in this page is provided by the Southland Regional Association of Realtors.

Over the last two year the number of days it takes to sell a short sale home in Saugus has steadily reduced from 150 in March 2011 to 95 days in February2013. The reason for this decline is that the banks have become more efficient in dealing with short sales. The negation process has become more streamlined

During the last two years, for the firs 16 months the number of active short sale listing remain relatively constant . In April of 2012 the number of active short sale listing started the decline sharply from 175 to about 40 in February of 2013.

In Saugus the number of new short sale listing followed very closely the trend of active listings remaining constant until April 2012 at which point the number of new short sale listings started to sharply decline. It is interesting to note that in Saugus the number of short sales in past two remain constant over the first year, but after April of 2012 there was a substantial increase in the number of short sale.
