Saugus is centrally located in the Santa Clarita Valley between the 5 and the 14 freeway, giving the commuters access to two freeways. Saugus also has one of the best elementary schools and a very good high school. When my Husband and I moved to the Santa Clarita valley in 1987, we bought our first home in Saugus and have seen the whole valley expand rapidly. In Saugus the number of new short sale listing followed very closely the trend of active listings remaining constant until April 2012 at which point the number of new short sale listings started to sharply decline. It is interesting to note that in Saugus the number of short sales in past two remain constant over the first year, but after April of 2012 there was a substantial increase in the number of short sale.
